Enrolment timeline
As the first step in the process, you need to register online so that you and your son are on our database. This can be done anytime from your son’s birth onwards but we recommend that you do this no later than the beginning of his grade 6 year.
An 18-month enrolment process will start in your son’s grade 6 year.
Because Hilton College is a special place offering a unique experience, your boy must be confident that Hilton is the place for him. We must be sure that he and you, his parents, are equipped to make an informed decision by April of his grade 7 year. To support your family in getting to that point, we make every effort get to know you, and allow you the opportunity to get to know us. We encourage you to spend as much time as possible with us to understand our school and everything we believe in. You’ll have opportunities to visit our beautiful campus and your son can even stay overnight, enjoy a relaxed yet informative school tour and chat to our inspiring faculty, support staff and most importantly, our boys.
We, as a school, and prospective families must both ask, is Hilton College the right environment for this boy?
At Hilton College, we don’t conduct entrance exams. Superficial exam results do not give much of an insight into what makes for a great Hilton boy. Instead, we use school reports to assess academic performance.
Here’s an outline of our enrolment process, which we’ve designed to allow you and your son to get to know us and for us to get to know you:
| January 2023 to March 2023 | Grade 8 2024 applicant online meeting with a senior member of staff (compulsory). |
| January 2023 | Please send us your son’s grade 6 end of year school report. |
| January 2023 | Merit Award (scholarship) and Financial Assistance process commences. |
| 5 February 2023 | Attend our Welcome Day on campus, hosted by senior members of staff and Hilton boys. A tour of the school will form part of this visit. Booking is essential. |
| 22 February 2023 | Offers of place to sons and grandsons of Old Hiltonians and siblings. |
| February 2023 | Closing date for Grade 8 2024 applications. |
| 24 March 2023 | Sports assessment for Merit Awards (by invitation only). |
| 25 March 2023 | Academic assessment for Merit Awards (by invitation only). |
| 25-26 March 2023 | New Boys Weekend (compulsory). |
| 11 April 2023 | Merit Award and Financial Assistance offers of place. |
| 13 April 2023 | General place offers. |
